London’s Strongest Man Results

lsm2008-1058.jpgA few heavy down pours failed to dampen the spirits of the competitors at today’s London’s Strongest Man event in South Woodford.

With novice, 105kg and open events being run side by side, no less than 31 athletes took part in the action that came thick and fast.

Who Will Be London's Strongest Man 2008?Who will be London’s Strongest Man 2008? Well if you take yourself along to Oakdale Junior School in South Woodford on Sunday at 11am you can follow the event in all it’s glory. This is the second year this event has been staged - the brainchild of Lawrence “London Boy” Browne. Powershotsmag will be there to capture the day and the results will be posted here on Sunday evening. If you fancy coming along, the event is being held at;

Some People Will Do Anything To Attract Attention

Matt Starling at the Tractor PullYesterday saw the “IAWA Southdown Strongman Challenge” take place at the picturesque village of Thakeham in West Sussex. Local man and all round good guy - Matt Starling - not only put on and competed in the event, but also organised the entire Thakeham Village Day around which this event was staged. Rich Takes First At The Ministry

Rich Gorvin takes control of the Axle LiftThere’s no stopping Rich Gorvin - ask his Dad, he tried hard enough! After recently nabbing a wild card spot for next weeks BSM final at Minehead, Rich kept his pedal on the gas to clinch first place at last Sundays Southern Qualifier for UK’s Strongest Man 2008, held at the Ministry of Muscle Gym in Aylesford, Kent. Big Paul Carter grabbed a well deserved second and Paul Cater - in only his second open class competition - grabbed a further qualifying spot with a solid third place. Following disappointment at the BSM qualifier, Enzo Martino digged deep to grab fourth on countback (from Rob Frampton) and will join Rich and the two Paul’s at the UK Strongest Man final later this summer.
